Nancy O'Dell's professional career started in Myrtle Beach South Carolina as a news reporter and anchor for WPDE-TV. Later, she was morning news anchor at WCBD TV and acted as a crime reporter. The work of O'Dell in Charleston on police leniency towards DUI cases led to being the State Law Enforcement Division investigating these incidents. Ms. O'Dell was awarded the Best Report of the Media Award South Carolina by the Associated Press. O'Dell was then employed by the Miami-based NBC station WTVJ-TV as an investigative reporter and anchor, prior to her joining Access Hollywood in the role of co-anchor for the weekend. The present role of O'Dell as host of Access Hollywood is complemented by her contributions to NBC News Today, Dateline NBC as well as NBC News. She has covered such events like The Oscars The Emmys The Grammys and The Golden Globe Awards as and co-hosted a variety of shows that were pre-showarrivals to The Emmys and the Golden Globes. She also co-hosted for the Miss USA pageant and the Miss Universe pageant.
